Good Friday: Jesus Turns Enemies, Pilate & Herod, Into Friends

Good Friday blessings,
This year's Holy Week has given us an opportunity to sit alone with the voice of silence to ponder and pray. I've been reflecting on the pandemic and the power of the Cross. In my Good Friday reflection, I will share a little about Pilate and Herod. But before I'll do that, be encouraged by Mary's reckless faith in God.

Mary, the Mother of Jesus.
The Theotokos has played a vital role in the salvation of man. Amongst many characters that every Christian should emulate from her, I'll like to focus on her ability to trust the Word of God even in the midst of the unknown. Mary's words, 'Let thy will be done', was one of the first path that pave the way for the salvation of mankind. Even as we are crowded by this pandemic accompanied with conspiracy theories, Mary's character is charging us to trust God regardless of our situations. Oftentimes, when we trust God we do not need to understand. Cheer up! That storm in your life will surely pass away.

Herod and Pilate.
One of my most remarkable part of the way of Cross is the day Herod and Pilate became friends because of Jesus the Peacemaker. Even though Herod and Pilate became friends in dastardly deeds, it catalyzed salvation.

Luke 23:12 GNB
On that very day Herod and Pilate became friends; before this they had been enemies.
God takes every moment in human history to bring peace between men and within men. Families have not spent so much time together like the have within this lockdown; as Christians, we have to take advantage of this reunion to break those walls that divides us. Let's build bridges in this season! Swallow your pride and apologize! Let go of that grudge!

Your friendships reflect your hopes and personal confession; they influence powerfully how you live.
There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is no male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. (Galatians 3:28 ESV)
As an individual, reunite with yourself. Have you been mad at you because of some actions you took that were not right?

Sit down, reflect on your life and make amends!
Friendship with the world, to live as they live, is enmity with Jesus. Jesus is calling on you to make peace with Him, what's your relationship with Jesus like? Are your ways still right with God?

Spend more time with God! Discover yourself in His presence; that's where faith is built!
God bless you,
JS
